Spoiler Alert

There are places in this world older than you and I, places where old films don’t stay dead. Of course, the truth is that sometimes, dead is better. See whatever you put through those studio halls in the land beyond the Hollywood hills ain’t quite what comes back. It looks like the same film, but it ain’t that film, because whatever lives in those studio halls beyond the Hollywood hills ain’t creative at all. The indies knew that. They stopped using those places when the ground went sour. Sometimes, dead is better.

Pet Sematary 2019 is the cinematic equivalent of Timmy Baterman. Everything about it is a pale imitation of the film that spawned it. Little more than a cynical attempt to cash in on a beloved cult classic of the horror genre. Indeed, sometimes, dead is better.
