Grim Rants: Online Harassment Is A Sign Of Mental Illness

Since I’m being accused of over-explaining and using too many damn paragraphs, I’ll make this short. For those of you who are new to the site, obviously you’ve noticed a troll by the name of John in my comments section. This troll is interesting, because instead of just silly troll comments that doxx my real name (which everyone knows by now and The Grim Lord moniker has always been an obnoxious joke on my part) the troll keeps urging me to go seek mental help and therapy. While this would be considered helpful if it came from someone who actually cared about my mental health and well-being, (in which I’m thankful to have several friends both online and off who do care in that sense) that’s not what it is happening here.

You don’t troll someone and badmouth them if you feel they need legitimate help. You don’t constantly comment on every single thing they write and make accusations about them nor accuse them of lying if you actually believe they need mental help. As I have explained, I have several people in the mental health field that I talk to on a regular basis. I have a licensed therapist who is just one message away if she feels I need some help with my condition. I have another who also works in the field and trains other people in various aspects of mental health. He’s also one message away. They’ve observed my content and one in particular knows it quite well. I’m sure he’s kind of shocked a bit by our change, but it’s nothing that he’d consider unhealthy. Adult games are a worthy medium of critique after all. The problem here is that this person who claims to be interested in my mental health and well-being is trolling me, stalking me, making false claims about me and causing general disarray during my site’s relaunch that I feel is not in any way professional or necessary. If nothing else, this individual is proving to me that they are the one who needs mental help. Because I can assure you that any single person who goes out of their way to comment on a website which hosts content that they don’t like day after day after day is mentally ill. This is a form of harassment and the very last time I’m going to speak about it here.

This has gone beyond playful trolling and is getting serious. So for the last time, I implore this person to get some help and leave me alone. All future messages from this individual or others along similar lines will be marked as spam. If you don’t have any meaningful conversation to add to any of these topics or the reviews that are going to be posted in the future (and disagreeing points are welcome) then please refrain from further commenting. We simply do not have time for it and are gearing up for content review again. People who come for reviews will not want to read drivel from a troll. Find someone else to harass.
